How are these former NFL studs still Free Agents??

If you had told me a few weeks ago that Andy Dalton would sign a contract before Cam Newton and Jadeveon Clowney I'd have told you to pound sand. But here we are... Daltons a cowboy while these former studs sweat it out unemployed. I know that Cam Newton has an attitude and Clowney seemingly wants more money then god but COME ON! I decided it's time for me to take a closer look at this and see if we can find these guys some jobs. Let's start with Cam Newton. I'd say reason #1 he hasn't got a job yet is his fashion sense. How you gonna sign a guy when it looks like he's rocking a turkey on his head trying to hide it with a nasty looking scarf?! Dress the part Cam!!

The #2 reason as it's been reported multiple time's Cam want's the starting job no matter where he ends up. That's a tough sell considering he hasn't been able to stay healthy and his numbers have been on the decline regardless. Even with the baggage Cam brings I can't believe no team has taken a shot at him. The guy is a former league MVP. He's led his team to a super bowl appearance. Even just a few years ago (2017) Cam threw for 3,302 yards and got 11 wins helping his team make the playoffs. The man has the ability to be great matched with a bad attitude. So where does he go from here?

That's me up there trying to think this out lol My answer for where he would fit best won't be popular. I think the best fit for him would be the New England Patriots. Tom grew a set and took his talents to Tompa Bay. Bill seems content with starting either Jarret Stidham or Brian Hoyer but I don't think thats wise. Truly none of us know what Stidham is capable of yet but why not sign Cam incase the kids not ready. Anyone who feels Stidham gives the Patriots a better chance to win then Cam Newton is probably lying to themselves. So shut up Cam and go get that job!

Another big time name not yet signed is DE Jadeveon Clowney. Former #1 pick of the 2014 draft. do you remember that hit from his college days?!?

Coming into the league he was supposed to be the next great. He for sure had some solid years but injuries got in the way of him being an all time player. He's 27 years old and I bet he's still got a few solid years of football left in him. There's no question the only reason he isn't signed right now is he's asking for too much money. That number will eventually go down but when it does where will he sign??

Let's think out loud here. The Seattle Seahawks need an edge rusher. They know what he is capable of and for the right price could use him. I've been hearing the New York Jets are interested but I don't think the feelings mutual between the player and the team. Does he want to ring chase with Tom Brady in Tampa? They already have a solid defensive line and Clowney would put them over the top! Even with all this being said I think the best fit for Clowney would be the Baltimore Ravens. I know cap space is tight right now but the team’s available cap space jumps to over $107 million after next season. I think Clowney healthy puts them over the top and completes that team.

The last guy on my list is Devonta Freeman. He was a solid RB1 for a few years with the Atlanta Falcons but once again injuries got in the way. Even with playing 14 games last season he was only able to put up mediocre numbers. The Falcons decided to part ways with him making him an unrestricted free agent. I've heard rumors of the Philadelphia Eagles looking into him but it was reported he asked for way too much money. The Seattle Seahawks have reportedly offered him a contract and he turned it down. I think Freeman has to look at his numbers and realize he's gotta prove his worth cause his past doesn't prove much. I couldn't even find a solid GIF of the guy. At the end of the day I think the best fit for Freeman is to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers! He's got a name and something to prove. So take less money and ball out with Gronk and Brady who are attempting to do the same thing!
